June 7, 1934 – May 12, 2022

Ben was born in Feliksowka, Poland on June 7, 1934.  He came to Canada from Germany in 1948 with his parents.  He went to school in Winnipeg and then Toronto.  He returned to Winnipeg and started his lifelong career at MTS.  He married Mickey and after many years they welcomed their beautiful, sweet daughter Camilla.  Ben was an active member of many Polish organizations from the 1970’s to the 1990’s, including the Polish Profession Club, Polish Kongress, Polish news paper “Czas”, president for 7 years at Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jan and Karolina Karasinski, brothers Kaz and Joseph, one sister Mary Mikucki.  He was also predeceased by his precious daughter Camillia on October 5, 2019.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mickey of 60 years, his nieces, Wanter Piotrowski and Angela Pagée, one nephew, Richard Mikucki, one cousin, Marian Mischuck, as well as many relatives in the U.S.A., Poland and Germany.

Ben loved life, good times, jokes and good friends.  Thank you for the excellent care of my husband Ben to the Health Sciences Centre, all the doctors and nurses of the 4th floor, section GA.  Thank you to our church, Holy Ghost, 341 Selkirk, especially to our priest, Fr. Tomasz Kościński, O.M.I.; our good neighbours, friends – the many phone calls, visits, flowers and cares are truly comforting. In times of sorrow, we see who our friend are – thank you!

Thank you to Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society, 1230 Main Street, for the flowers, the useage for the “stypa”.

Thank you to Jan Leszczynsk of M&S Meat Market, 915 Main Street, for the nice meal.

Thank you to everyone who attended and paid their last respects to my late husband, Ben.
