Obituary of HAROLD LOUIE PURPUR

August 10, 1926 - February 27, 2022

After a wonderful 95 years Harold peacefully passed away on February 27, 2022.

He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine of 49 years and is survived by his children Ken (Linda) Gary, Valerie, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Harold was very passionate about his career as a firefighter. He spent 35 years serving the citizens of Winnipeg where he retired as a district chief in April 1988.

An avid curler, Harold represented the firefighters at the provincial Championships.

Him and Lorraine were curling enthusiasts who travelled across Canada for the Briers and World Championships. Most of all they enjoyed the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships where they met up with old and new friends.

In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling, meeting his friends for a beer, golfing with his son Ken and in recent years spending time with his great grandchildren Ella, Max, Jack, Ruby and Milo.

Ken and Linda would like to thank the nurses and staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their care and compassion for dad.

A private service has taken place.
