Obituary of EDUARDA LOPES

Eduarda do Espiritu Santo de Camara Correia Lopes passed away peacefully, with family by her side on February 24, 2022 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 95 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joaquim, son Jose, parents, sisters, brothers, great-grandson, niece, nephews and numerous extended family members.

Eduarda is lovingly remembered by her children, Maria Fatima (Joaquim) de Sousa, John (Ana) Lopes and Margaret (Robert) Rocha. Her grandchildren, Paulina (Roy), Sandy (Rudy), Joe (Casey), Diana, and Bobby (Christina). Her great-grandchildren, Andrew (Alexandria), Davian, and Kiana.

She also leaves her sisters, Natalia and Loudres (Laudalino) Moniz and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Eduarda was born and raised in Ribeirinha is Sao Miguel, Acores. She moved to Winnipeg, MB in 1964 with her children to settle with her husband. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, friend to all who had the privilege to be hers. She loved to take care of her family and ensured they always had what they needed before she took care of herself . Her best times were when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and family. She loved to cook, sew, knit, crochet and trying new things. She loved large family gatherings where she could be with everyone she loved, to talk and laugh with. She loved to have fun and dance when she had the chance.

She went through a lot of ups and down in her life but came through it a winner due to her incredible strength, courage and faith in her Lord.

A huge thank you to the Staff of St. Joseph’s Personal Care Home for the love, care and support they provided for Eduarda.
