MARIA DE FATIMA REQUEIMA
(Nee LOPES)
July 12, 1942 – February 6, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother with her family by her side on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Maria de Fatima leaves to mourn her children Humberto (Maria), Fernando, Paul (Shannon) and Susie (Shawn). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren James (Antonia), Andrew (Emily), Amanda (Darwin), Marissa (Rhett) and Sophia. Her great-grandchildren Bertrand (“Bertie”), Maude and Theodore. She will be lovingly remembered by her special niece Ricarda (Andy). And many family members and friends from Canada, Portugal and USA.

Maria de Fatima was predeceased by her parents Marianna Ferreira de Rocha Lopes and Luis Narcisco Lopes, her husband Manuel Requeima and her sister Judite Rocha.

Mom was born in Quatro Ribeiras, Terceira, Portugal. Mom and dad immigrated to Canada and settled in Winnipeg with their young family in 1969.

Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, with visitation to take place an hour prior. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
