Obituary of VERNON DOUGLAS McKEE

Vernon Douglas McKee

July 5, 1930 - January 5, 2022

Vern passed away peacefully on January 5, 2022. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brother and sister.

Vern worked for the City of Winnipeg Operations Department for 36 years. After his retirement, he moved from the West End to Place Louis Riel Hotel, where he lived for a number of years. He then moved to Heritage House and most recently to Fred Douglas Lodge.

Vern had a gruff exterior with a heart of gold. To all who knew him, he was quite the character and we will always remember the many newspaper articles he told in great detail.

Thank you to Shauna and staff at Heritage House for the excellent care he received for 13 years and to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge who treated him with dignity until the end.
