Obituary of BRUCE BENJAMIN CANDLINE
BRUCE BENJAMIN CANDLINE
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Bruce Candline, on November 27, 2021.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlene, his daughter Luanne (Dan) and his son Kevin (Janice). Mourning the loss of their grandpa is Season (Justin), Caitlin (Regan), Clayton (Brenna), Jasmin and Collin (Michelle).
Dad was born on August 5, 1935, in Saskatoon, SK. He left school at the age of 15 to work as a carman for the CNR. While working as a carman, Dad went to night school to complete his high school education and take university classes to become a Registered Industrial Accountant. In 1972, the CNR transferred the family to Winnipeg, MB, and Transcona became home. Dad completed his studies, graduating with honours, and worked for the CNR until his retirement in 1990.
Dad was a very gentle man. He loved all animals. He was very witty and had a great sense of humour. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and the Winnipeg Jets. Mom and Dad were long time active members of the Transcona Legion.
The family would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch Home for their compassionate care and kindness toward Dad.
Friends and family who are fully vaccinated are invited to drop in anytime on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 between 2:00 and 6:00 for a celebration of Dad’s life at the Transcona Legion, 117 Regent Ave. E.
