Obituary of MARIA DE FATIMA FERNANDES DE MELO FERREIRA

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Maria De Fatima Ferreira on November 12, 2021 at Grace Hospital, in Winnipeg, MB. Mom passed peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband Francisco, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Maria is lovingly remembered by her children Emanuel (Luzia), Jose (Shawna), Antonio, Alice (Bruno) and Sophia.

Grandchildren Andrew, Sabrina, Samantha, Jonathan, Emily, Matthew, Nicole, Veronica, Dru, Layne, Aiden, Hendrix, Ali, Karim and Silas; greatgrandchildren Arianna, Mikayla, Raiden, Alaina, Jordan, Leo and Niyah.

She also leaves her sister Fernada (in Portugal) Odilia and Alice, with numerous nieces and nephews.

Maria was born on May 15, 1945 in San Miguel, Acores and moved to Canada on February 11, 1972.

Maria enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, going for long walks and gardening. She had a place in her heart for animals, tending to them and taking care of them.  Every pet and baby truly loved her.  She was also a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception church.

The family wants to thank the staff and the CAU ward at the Grace Hospital, for their care and compassion.  Viewing will be held at Cropo Funeral home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

A prayer vigil and funeral will be held Wednesday November 17^th 2021 at the Immaculate Conception church at 12:00pm.

Due to health restrictions, we are at full capacity.

Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery at 3990 Portage Ave. W.
