NETTIE NAROZNIAK
(NEE PAWLYK)
Peacefully on November 15,2021, Nettie passed away at the age of 81 with her husband of 64 years by her side.
Nettie leaves behind her husband Fred, daughter Wendy (Scott), grandchildren Nicholas, Arianna and Joshua, son Fred Jr. (Sue), granddaughter Jazzlyn.
Predeceased by her parents Mike and Annie Pawlyk.
Nettie was born on March 18,1940 in East Braintree Manitoba and later resided in Winnipeg. Nettie went to Tec Voc high school where she met the love of her life Fred. After getting married they bought their first house on Nairn Avenue then building a house in Windsor Park. This is where she started to raise her two children Wendy and Fred Jr., after a brief stint in North Kildonan it was back to Windsor Park. It was then off to Transcona and then to Anola. Then a few other moves and ending up at Quail Ridge Condos for 22 years. There Nettie also met life long friends as she acquired friends from all the places, she made her home.
Nettie was very supportive of her children’s wishes to play sports. Wendy with baton and Fred Jr. with hockey, soccer and basketball. There were many trips taken all over Canada and the U.S.A. But the most memorable ones were to South Bend Indiana for baton and Minneapolis for hockey. She also drove the kids to many Saturday morning baton practices and early morning weekday (7:00a.m.) hockey practices. This she did without a question and was always a cheerleader for both.
Nettie worked hard all through her life to provide for her kids and give the little extra things she wasn’t fortunate to have. Nettie worked at many companies starting at Dominion Bridge as a payroll clerk, then furthering her career at Powell Equipment and B.A.Construction then ending at Riverside Gravel. She also worked part time at the Free Press doing an agent run on weekends in her earlier years to help make ends meet.
Nettie was most happy in family settings especially when her first grandson Nicholas joined the clan. Then came a long Arianna and Joshua, and finally Jazzlyn. Family was what was most important to her and the love she showered them all definitely proved that.
But as mentioned earlier her love of her life was Fred and her devotion for him was gigantic! Through good times and bad she always stood by her man.
Nettie loved many things in life and one of them was wildlife which she started to enjoy in Anola. She also spent many hours feeding squirrels, chipmunks and deer at their cabin at the Narrow’s Manitoba.
Nettie also throughout her life battled many health challenges. Nettie beat breast cancer but dealt with many aches and pains because of arthritis. But the Alzheimer’s was her biggest battle.
Nettie always had a smile on her face and always saw the best in people. She would want all of us to go on with our lives and be kind and loving to one another!
Prayers will be held on Monday November 22,2021 at 7:00p.m. at Cropo Funeral home 1442 Main Street.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday November 23,2021 at 10:00 a.m. also at the same location.
Interment at Glen Eden cemetery. As per health department regulations, vaccination card and ID, face masks are required for attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba are graciously accepted.
