Obituary of ROSE DESJARDINS
ROSE DESJARDINS
(Nee Ozarko)
Peacefully on January 2, 2013 at the Riverview Health Centre, Rose passed away after a courageous short battle with Leukemia, at the age of 78 with her family by her side.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother Bill, her two sons, Gerald (Andrea) and Larry, grandchildren Eric (Leah), Ashley, Kyle and Tiana. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ray.
She will be missed by many friends and relatives throughout Canada, US and England. Rose enjoyed her 25 years of work at the Eaton's mail order and warehouse until her retirement. Rose loved tending to her garden, painting and yard work both at home and the cottage at Gull Lake. She was known for her arts and crafts, her decorative skills and entertainment activities for the East Kildonan & Seven Oaks Lions Clubs and an active fundraising member for many years. Rose enjoyed playing Saturday night Kinsmen Bingo and going on regular camping trips, vacations, bus tours and weekend junkets to Grand Forks with her family and to the casino with Ray, Bill and Pearl. She looked forward to cooking, entertaining, and quality time with her family and friends, but especially dinner outings and movie dates
with her soul mate, Ray.
A celebration of Rose's life will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St., Wpg. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs (www.dogguides.com) or to a charity of your choice.
Condolences and your fond memories of Rose may be sent to hangonfridayscoming@gmail.com which will be read at her Celebration of Life evening.
