It is with great shock to read of the demise of a very good friend. I was in Winnipeg, Canada in 1977 precisely between January to April. He and the wife actually accommodated me during my stay together with another lady called Monica. During my brief stay there, he showed so much love and understanding of my situation and gave me valuable advice and encouragement even when I made up my mind to come back to Nigeria. Ever since, I have only made contact with him only once when I gained admission into the University and I posted my matriculation picture to him. Because of the circumstances of my leaving Canada, he did not believe that I could make it to the university almost immediately. Because of direct communication problems, we lost contact but attempts were made to reach his family in Lagos, Nigeria without success. I was desperate to reunite with him. He has been in my thoughts ever since and everytime I keep wondering how I can reach him.
Just today, 13th of April 2022, I got this feeling that probably I should try Google and type his name and to my greatest surprise what flashed in my face was the obituary. I was "paralysed' for a brief moment until I gathered my thoughts again to read the full story of his death. What a shock !. I was there when he gave birth to his first child and was part of the group that organised the naming ceremony together with Lawrence and Sonny. I lost contact with all of them too.
If the darling wife is reading this message, she will remember me.
Rest in perfect peace my senior good friend. He was like a senior brother to me. Will never forget you.
ADIEU DAN .

Tribute to my loving brother, Daniel Sadadi Odidison
Words can not express the shock and devastation your unimaginable death brought to me when I heard it .
The entire family and I will miss you for all you did when you were still here.
You were loving, caring and helpful. If I had the power to bring you back to life, I would have done it without hesitating. Who am I to question the Almighty God?
D.S.O. as I usually call you, I am in pains as I write this tribute to a well loved brother. As you proceed on this eternal journey may the Almighty God give you a perfect rest and shower His mercies on the children and family you left behind.
Bye my beloved brother until we meet again in the bosom of the Lord to part no more. You will always be in our hearts.

Brother Dan! As we fondly called him. Brother Dan you filled every room you ever entered with your infectious laughter- with a distinct tone of voice that exuded Joy, friendship and happiness.
Brother Dan was as genuine as they come. We all experienced your love for family, unconditional love for siblings and In-laws alike.
So when this crushing news came, our entire family was thrown into utter confusion..... Brother Dan!!? No!!!!, how could this be?! But then our faith in God kicked in, knowing that our God Is not a God of confusion..... therefore, we accept God's Will.
Brother Dan as you have arrived your final destination, we say rest in perfect peace!
Good night brother Dan!

Tribute to the Patriach of the Odidison clan in Winnipeg.
Bro Dan, you became part and parcel of my life from even before I became your sister-in-law. You always called me "Zainie my sister" which I thought was quite an endearment. To my husband, children and I you were so caring and loving, the best.
Your magnetic smiles, forgiving spirit and your peace drew most of the people you met very close to you. All the people you met in Nigeria through us are blessing you.
My family will never forget all the shake-and-bake as well as goat curries you made for us. You and I enjoyed cooking and eating Nigerian food most of the time. I will forever cherish the countless CDs you made for me. All wrapped with love.
My greatest joy is that you gave yourself to Christ and worked in the vineyard of The Almighty until the end.
You were a fantastic, loving and doting husband to Sister Gwen, father and grandfather to the children and to the rest of your loved ones. We are pained that you left us mostly because it seems too sudden but we know that God gave death to mortals but He did not make it the end of life for us.
For you, labour is over, no more struggles, no sorrow, no more pain and earthly tears are dried.
Bro Dan, we shall draw strength always from reflections on the sweetest and the best of our memories of you until one by one we all join you in Gloryland.
Your sleep is now perfect, secure and deep. You are now enjoying that peace that goes beyond the realms of the soul.
Adieu my darling Brother. Rest in peace.
Zainie Odidison.

My Dear brother Daniel,
Words are not enough to express how distraught I am with your sudden demise. You were so full of life and through the lenses of your travel camera, you made some us see the beauty of this world. You always had a sweet spirit and made sure you brightened every corner you found yourself. You were full of knowledge and inspiration. I will sorely miss our daily prayer quotes and news updates. Most importantly, I will miss the cheerful giver which you have always been - there has not been any Christmas without a token from you and Misan.
I love you my dear brother, but I believe that God loves you best. May you continue to rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord Jesus Christ until we meet again in glory. Amen.

We commiserate with our beloved brother Cap. Sonny Odidison and his family on the demise of his wonderful brother Dan. It is a painful loss to the family and to all who encountered Dan in his life time. He left a smile, a hug, a word of encouragement and lots of love to all, in his place of work, in the church, in the market place and deeply in his family. We love him but he is at peace in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. The promise of the RESURRECTION morning is the joy of our meeting with our loved ones. Brother Dan, enjoy the peace of the Lord, Rest In Peace until we meet to part no more.

My sincere condolences to the family of Dan Odidison...A high spirited wonderful family oriented man. We met just in February and it seems like forever. Uncle Dan had a way of bringing out even the things you never wanted to share. He sends me tons of Pam's books and we spend time critiquing them. You never gave me a hint
that the day you came back from Calgary was the last time I was going to speak with you.
I am sure you are resting with the Lord cos you "have" a good heart. Adieu Uncle Dan

To our beloved Sis. Gwendolyn Odidison, Kenneth, Pamela, Beatrice, Elaine, Majorie and their families and his extended family and friends. Like most people, we were shocked to learn of Brother Dans passing. We have no way to entirely understand the waves of sadness and heartache your family is experiencing. Our family loved Brother Dan. . He was a father figure to many. We remember when he gave his heart to God after many years of prays. Mostly yours Sis. Gwen. But you never gave up and we truly admire your never ending faith. He took his oath of Christianity seriously. He meant business. He proceeded to help wherever he could and proved himself a mighty man of valor. Our family will continue praying for God to give your family the comfort and strength they will need to go through this time of grief. Psalm 23 says: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." My mom is not able to come visit but she is definitely praying for your family. So please accept these few words as we honour our Brother Dan and the extraordinary love and kindness he showed through his life but moreso, through his walk with God. From: Sister Miranda Nimchan and her children, Daron, Adria Penner & Family & Neil Nimchan & Family.
