MILDRED (MILLIE) STEPHENS
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mildred (Millie) Stephens on Friday, December 28, 2012 after a determined battle with cancer.
Millie was born February 12, 1936 in Bifrost, MB. Her family moved to Winnipeg in 1942, where she grew up and completed her education at Isaac Newton High School.
Millie had a very successful and diverse career in the financial and retail industry. She loved her family and friends with whom she enjoyed spending time.
Millie met the love of her life, Marcus, in 1963 and they were married in 1965.
Millie is survived by her son Michael (Karen); grandsons Marcus and Aaron; sisters Margaret, Ilene (Ron); sister-in-law Jewell (Winston) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Millie was predeceased by her husband Marcus; father Walter Kardashinski; mother Laura (Lena); step-dad Joseph Malecki; brother Gordon and brother-in-law Stanley Pondo.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
