Obituary of GEORGE KENNETH TOWNSEND

KEN (GEORGE) TOWNSEND

Sadly, the family of Ken Townsend advise of his passing on July 9, 2021, just a couple weeks shy of his 93 birthday.

Ken was born and raised in Winnipeg. He lived also in Kenora, London, and Leamington, Ontario.

Predeceased by loving wife Betty of 59 years, mother, father, brother and four sisters, as well as several relatives of the Townsend and Ingram families.

“A Little Cross”

Every day I wear a little Cross
A constant reminder to me
That I am a believer
No matter where I may be
The Cross also reminds me
Of the price He paid for me
A simple understanding
Between my Savior and me
I’m reminded too to be thankful
For my blessings day by day
And strive to serve Him better
In all that I do or say
It is also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share
With all who know my Master
And give themselves to His care
So I wear a little Cross
Reminding no one but me
That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life
As I have let Him be.

Remaining to cherish Ken’s life is his wonderful son Wayne (Carolyn), Jamie, Lisa, Oliver, Jane and Will, Lauren (Adam), Nolan and Vera, and Mark (Kelly), Noah of Vancouver. Wonderful daughter Kathy (Brian), Brayden and Linnaea of Peterborough, Ontario, and several nieces and nephews.

He was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There will not be a formal service, rather a private interment of cremains beside Betty at the Transcona Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you so wish, please consider a donation to Manitoba Lung Association or Concordia Village Foundation.

Thank you. God bless.
