I have so many memories of this beautiful lady. She was the mom of my childhood best friend Cindy. I remember this six toed cat she adored and after cooking a beautiful meal he gingerly hopped on the counter to enjoy it before tue family did. Mae was a gentle, kind and loving mom who gently steered her girls in the right direction in life. She was so unique and independent in her nature. She was not a follower rather a sweet free spirit and one was blessed to be in her presence. The love she had with Bob was one of a kind. They were like two teenagers in love as long as I knew them. They were each other’s balance and support and they did it with great style and grace.
I lost touch with the family after moving away but no amount of time dulls the memories and impact Mae had in and in my life. One of my very special ones was when she was bathing Renee as a baby in the kitchen sink. Cindy and I loved her little sister as she was an adorable addition to their family. Mae was my across the back lane “second mom”. She stood in at our first daughter, Brittany’s baptism in Winnipeg for Cindy. Always there when help was needed.
Sweet Mae, I thank God He put you in my life journey and I pray for your eternal rest. May your memory be eternal
