Obituary of LAURA SWAN
LAURA SWAN (MAYER, NEE LAVALLEE)
March 3, 1936 – May 13, 2021
Laura completed her life’s journey on May 13th. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her children Marleen (Robert), Linda (Bill), Albert (Pat), Louis (Brenda); 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother Edward and a large extended family.
Gone before and waiting to greet her; Philip Mayer, her husband of 28 years and father of her children; Warren Swan, her husband of 8 years; 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
Laura was born and raised in the small village of St. Ambroise, Manitoba and had a great love for music and dance. She was a proud and active member of the St. John Cantius' Catholic Women’s League for 50 dedicated years.
Mom was a kind, caring and generous person who always had a welcoming open door for family and friends who were in need. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank all of the staff and management of River East Personal Care Home for their kindness, compassion, care and friendship they have provided during the past 4 years. A special thanks to her devoted son Albert for being there to hold Mom’s hand, while giving her the comfort and love she needed allowing her to slip away peacefully.
God took you home it was His will, but in our hearts, you are with us still.
Our days together are quietly kept, no words are needed, we shall never forget.
For those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard but always near.
So loved, so missed and so very dear.
