Sandra and family, I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. I met Tom through Curtis at Resto Gare. It was my first night serving and had never uncorked a bottle of wine. He was my customer and walked me though how to use a corkscrew right at the table after he had ordered a bottle! He didn’t make me feel silly, he was kind and lighthearted about the whole thing. Ever since then, I’ve known him to always have a jovial and gentle personality…with a great hearty laugh! He will be missed.

I remember Tom well from when he was young - about 10 years old. He was the oldest of the 4 kids in his family and I used to babysit them on Coney Island. At 14, it didn't phase me in the least to babysit 4 kids under 10, but that's mostly because Tommy was so helpful! He was so mature and responsible at such a young age. It's not surprising he went on to achieve so much in the relatively short time he had. I am grateful I had the chance to reconnect with him at the barge party last year - such a cheerful and friendly fellow. My sincere condolences to all his family and friends. Rest in peace Tommy.

Our sincere condolences to The Johnson Family. Thomas appeared to be a true professional and a gentleman. He conveyed calm and trust and had a wonderful demeanour. We were acquaintances and did not know him too well personally, however he made a wonderful impression on all of us. I am sure he is missed. Thomas brought joy to many, and I always remember when my wife said to him :"Thomas, I have a question I would like to ask you." Thomas replied "Yes will always be the answer; now what is the question?" Rest in peace Thomas. Kindest thoughts and wishes from Ludolf & Diane Grollé

Dear Sandra, Mr and Mrs. Johnson, and the rest of the Johnson family.
Tom is always going to stay in our thoughts and hearts. Victor, Luka and I have been blessed to know him for many years.
I personally met Tom on a boat and that day he gave me a nickname that I was never able to shake off, became a fun story shared for years. One of the last times we spend time together was also on a boat when Tom let Luka “drive” the boat. Luka still calls him Captain Tom. Even in the city, every time Luka would see a Jeep, he would ask is that Tom? In his eyes, every Jeep was Tom’s.
We always had fun times with Tom. From Vic and Tom hanging out in a hot tub (warm bath) in Cuba, to many get togethers in Kenora, we always had the best time when Tom was around.
Tom will be greatly missed and always remembered.
Love Tanja, Victor and Luka

Our family are sending condolences to the Johnson and Ivetic families. Although we have never known you, we did have the ongoing pleasure of being around Thomas over the years. We knew him from 529, RLOTW Yacht Club, the Grace Anne II, Manitoba Club and lastly The Peasant Cookery. Thomas had the kindest of hearts and the gentlest nature. The warmth and generosity he offered everyone was genuine. A true Gentle Man.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Blain and Barb King

Thomas Johnson was a legend in my industry, often I mention how he was the first assistant I had when we first open 529 Wellington, he wanted to learn everything he could about wine and wine service, and I was more than happy to help him out in any way that I could. When he returned to work as a Manager it was my turn to learn from him. He had and amazing take on what hospitality is. For him it was somthing that you lived everyday, hospitality was a kind word, hospitality was the way he told a story, hospitality was his laugh that could fill a room. Hospitality was in his blood, he embodied what hospitality is. I don’t think anybody who had the pleasure of knowing him and could walk away without a smile on their face. He taught me so much of what true hospitality means. I was so lucky to be able to call him friend.
I got to meet him as a kid and now have to say good by to a legend. He gave me a life time of laughs I just hope I can honour him for the rest of my days with his infectious hospitality.

Our deepest condolences. Tom will be forever in our hearts and memories. Such a kind and generous man... and all the kids loved him! I will never forget the way he flung my children halfway across the pool during the summers... he set the standard too high, everyone else after that was simply mediocre in comparison!! Sending all our love, strength and prayers.

Dear Johnson Family, we send you our love and condolences. Curtis, Monique and I have so many wonderful memories of Tommy from childhood to adulthood. Thank you for all the wonderful times together. Forever loved.
One in particular memory was on Coney Island. Tom and Curtis playing frisbee in the water using flat shale and counting the number of times the stone would skip on the water before catching it. What could go wrong with that!
I seem to remember tom getting a few stitches that day. Some how all I can remember vividly is Tommys mischievous playful grim.
