Thinking of the entire Picken Clan at this time & remembering your sweet Gracie. While Gracie was the eldest of the Picken Clan, she also held the record as definitely the tiniest of the bunch! Douglas & I remember her as fiesty, sporty & fun... and apparently, the only one in her family that could hum 'Your in the navy now'...& mean it. Who Knew??? When, in Gracie's company, she would burst with smiles & pride over & for her daughter, her very favorite handsome son-in-law plus all her beautiful grand kids. Family time meant so much to Gracie... her uncles with their stories & crazy jokes plus all the aunties with their 'secret' recipies. Yes, our elders get fragile & must leave the planet but we do have all those old photos & memories to sustain us & keep their memory alive. RIP Gracie & our love to the families that will miss her. Sincerely, xo Douglas, Sheila, McGuire, Karver & Kourtney Kaminsky.
For the family...
"May the stars carry your sadness away,
'May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
' May hope forever wipe away your tears,
'And, above all, may silence make you strong. by Chief Dan George.

Rest In Peace my dear Grandma Grace. You will always be an inspiration to me and I will cherish the memories we made forever.
We had many adventures over the years, exploring all the wonderful things our province has to offer. The Winter Fair in Brandon (She’d let me sit in the goat petting zoo for as long as I wanted as a little girl and get my fill of horse love too.) ballet, symphony, opera, art gallery, sight seeing and fine dining. She even took me to my audition and rehearsals when I performed in the Pan Am Games ceremonies. She made the best hot chocolate using Callebaut chocolate shavings and warm milk on the stove. Her driving made me car sick but we survived many little trips together and had a blast.
I’m so very thankful to have spent time with her in her final days. My Mom didn’t leave her side and made sure she received the care and love she deserved. She liked my singing, so I sang In the Garden for her in the hospital too. Many tears and many prayers over the last few weeks. Theo and Bennett say you are an angel and they will look for you in the stars Grandma

That is a beautifully written and heartfelt tribute to Grandma Grace. Her grandchildren were lucky . Before you were here, she spent a lot of time with your brothers too, giving us and them one on one time. I am so glad in her final days, the three of you were able to spend time with her. She can now attend every activity of her great grandchildren.

Our deepest condolences to all the family, especially Carol and Rod. We only met Grace once, but she made a lasting impression. She was a sweet and caring lady with a great sense of humour. How lucky you all were to have her in your family. Love from Mair and Karl

Our deepest condolences and love to Melodie and her beautiful family and to the siblings of Auntie Grace. As you shared in your message Melodie- her struggle is over and for this we are grateful and trust that Auntie Grace well be at peace and reunited with many beloved family members and friends that she had lost over the years. Since Tuesday a million little memories of Auntie Grace have been remembered and I cherish all of them-she made the BEST Blueberry pancakes, and was always such a huge supporter of my artistic desire. Thank you Auntie Grace for your love and caring XXXOO.
