Obituary of ANTONIO PEREIRA CAMPOS

ANTONIO PEREIRA CAMPOS

September 19, 1940 – April 10, 2021

After a courageous and lengthy battle, Antonio Campos closed his eyes for the last time to be with the Lord.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Valdomira; sons Duarte (Maria), Antonio (Margaret), and Arthur (Leda); grandchildren Sabrina, Catherine, Julianna, Matthew, Lukas, and Christian. Dad is also survived by his two brothers Duarte and John, and his sister Maria, as well as his extended family in Manitoba, Ontario, Massachusetts, and the Azores. Dad was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Maria, and three brothers, Gilbert, Jamie and Jose.

Our Dad was born in Sao Miguel, Azores and in 1973, he immigrated to Canada with his family to provide a better life for them. Days later, he began his employment with Kitchen Craft, which continued until he retired after 32 years. He made many lasting friendships there during this time.

In his spare time, Dad loved to go fishing on his many trips to Seven Sisters, Lockport, Selkirk, and Lake of the Woods.  He also had a strong passion for gardening which was rooted in his blood, and he never gave it up.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church with Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
