Obituary of ANNE CHICK
ANNE CHICK
(PAZIUK)
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Anne Chick, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on December 15, 2012 at Seven Oaks General Hospital.
Surviving to cherish Anne’s memory forever are her four daughters: Carolyne (David), Marcia (Dennis), Patricia and Janis (Allan); as well as her dear grandchildren whom she adored very much: Shawn (Janet), Ryan (Talia), Kelsey (Crystal), Kevan (Lesley), Christina, Matthew and Michael and great-grandchildren Jack, Aida and Isabella. Also left to mourn are Anne's brother George (Mavis) Paziuk and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband William (2010), her parents Michael and Nellie Paziuk, her brothers William, (Frances) and Steve (Nellie).
Anne was born in Ethelbert, Manitoba on October 9, 1927. She met the love of her life, William, and moved to Winnipeg. They were married in 1950 and were blessed to have shared 60 wonderful years of marriage together.
Anne enjoyed a 35 year teaching career, beginning first on a teaching permit in a rural school and then continuing her career in St. Andrews and Seven Oaks School Divisions. During this time, she worked hard to improve herself academically, earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1974 and her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1978. Anne’s love and dedication for her students earned her the highest regards amongst her peers and her students adored her.
Anne enjoyed traveling with her family throughout Canada and the United States. Following her retirement, she and Bill enjoyed holidays in Texas, the Maritimes, Hawaii and a Caribbean Cruise.
Anne’s hobbies included baking and gardening. Her freezers were always full of delectable family treats and "NO ONE" made perogies quite as good as Baba’s. She spent countless hours in her yard, lovingly tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Her yard was always beautifully manicured and gave her great joy.
Anne was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and an active member of the UCWLC.
Prayers will be said at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Wednesday, December 19 at 7:00pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue with Very Rev. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating on Thursday, December 20 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Holy Family Cemetery.
For those of us who have a mother,
Treasure her with care,
For you will never know her value,
Till you see that she’s not there.
To hear her voice, to see her smile,
To sit and talk with her a while,
To be together in the same old way,
Would be our dearest wish today.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne’s name may be made to the Blessed Vasyl Shrine or to the Church Decorations Fund, if desired.
May God grant you eternal rest, Mom.
We will always love you!
