Obituary of JOSÉ CARNEIRO MACHADO
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of José Carneiro Machado suddenly on February 22, 2021 at the Health Science Centre, at the age of 80.
He is survived by the love of his life Evelina. He is preceded in death by his daughter Lucie Pelly and survived by his children Nellie (Rob) Kupchak, Joe (Tannis) Machado, Paula (Paul) Herold. His Grandchildren Tara, Trisha, Christopher, Tyler, Phoenix, Taylor, Mallory, Kayla, Ashley.
He also leaves to mourn Moses (Natalia) Machado, Ildeberto (Conceicáo) Machado, Gorette Machado.
José was born on the island of São Miguel, Portugal and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1969. He worked for CN Rail for 30 years. He enjoyed playing in his band Banda Lira Fátima and watching his favourite football team Benfica play.
Due to COVID the Prayer Vigil and Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated for immediate family members only. Prayers will be live streamed and held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. To access the live stream go to www.cropo.com and follow the link in José’s obituary. Funeral will be celebrated on Friday, February 26, at 1:00pm at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
