Obituary of CHRISTOPHER LEE SHEBOBMAN

CHRISTOPHER LEE SHEBOBMAN
February 6, 1979-December 12, 2020

We are heartbroken and dismayed to announce the unexpected passing of our husband, father, son, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend Christopher Lee Shebobman.

Chris was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Doris Shebobman and Steve Slaney. He grew up surrounded by his many relatives until he was nine-years-old. Chris then moved to Winnipeg with his mom and stepdad Rick Filion where he grew up, made lifelong friends and built his life.

When he was 25-years-old Chris met Shawna Stodgell and soon after became stepfather to three beautiful children he took as his own for the remainder of his days. He truly loved Kierra, Kyla and Kieran and was proud to be their dad. In 2010 came one of his proudest moments when Chris and Shawna welcomed their son Kailen. Another of his best moments was on September 9, 2017 when he married his one true love. Over the years Chris and Shawna worked hard to travel together and take their children on fun family trips.

Chris was the life of the party, a charismatic, popular, funny, friendly guy who always had a way of making people feel special. He had many close friends and family, and a true few he took like brothers and sisters. He loved sports, especially his Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. He loved to go golfing with his buddies and was always the uncle with the best gifts for all the kid’s birthday parties. He also cherished the time he spent with his youngest son and his hockey team as one of the coaches. Anyone who knew him well was sure to get a big hug and kiss when you saw him. As an only child Chris was truly the apple of his mother’s eye and will always be her baby boy. The loss of this great man has broken many hearts.

A sacred fire was held for four days in his honour to ensure his spirit be guided to the place of everlasting peace and love. A celebration of his life is TBD for Spring/Summer 2021 when it is safe for family and friends to gather. We will share a more detailed eulogy at that time.

Chris was predeceased by his grandparents Rose and Toussant Shebobman and Margaret and Peter Slaney along with other dear friends and relatives.

Chris is survived by his wife Shawna, their children Kierra, Kyla, Kieran and Kailen. He also leaves behind his mother Doris and his pops Rick. He also has countless dear friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews that are mourning his loss.

We would like to thank everyone who reached out during this difficult time. We truly appreciate your kindness, generosity, love and support.

In lieu of flowers friends have set up a Go Fund Me page to help the family.

We all loved you Chris and will cherish the memories of you always.
