Obituary of NORMAN JANOWER
Norman (Norm) Janower
July 27, 1953 – November 29, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norm Janower on November 29th, 2020 at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 67 years young. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Lori of 42 years; his daughters, Jodie (Jason) and Jenna (Cody); son Chad and grandchildren, Madyson and Jace; brother Kenneth (Florence); sister Linda Sokil; sister-in-laws, Adeline and Lori; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Annie; his brothers, Edward (Eddie), Lenard (Len); and brother-in-law John Sokil. Norm was born in Arborg, Manitoba and was raised on the family farm in the Arborg area, he later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where he met the love of his life and they began their life together.
Norm was always recognized as a hard worker, he spent the majority of his working career happily employed with The City of Winnipeg in various departments over the last 31 years, where he made many lifelong friends. Norm had a great sense of humor and loved talking to anyone about anything and everything, and always gave a helping hand whenever it was needed. He had a passion for sports and a great love for being outdoors, whether it was being at the trailer, hunting, tending to his garden and plants, or finding something that needed fixing around the yard. He was a committed family man and always encouraged his children to achieve their highest potential. He cherished his time spent with his beloved family, friends, and fur-babies, but, most of all, he was the proudest Papa to Madyson and Jace, he never missed Madyson’s soccer games and enjoyed play wrestling with his “little man” Jace.
You will be dearly missed, it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later “And that’s the bottom line cause Stone Cold said so!”
A celebration of Norm’s life will take place at a later date, when we can all gather safely.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Manitoba Wildlife Federation.
