Obituary of ANTON RECEK

ANTON RECEK

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anton (Tony) Recek on November 29, 2020 at Holy Family Personal Care Home. Tony is survived by his wife Emma, daughter Irena (Derrick) and grand-children Clare and Cameron. Tony was born June 3, 1936 in Slovenia and immigrated to Canada with his wife Emma for a better life in 1958.

Over the years Tony worked at Maple Leaf Flour Mill, Motor Coach Industries and finally retiring from CP Railway when he turned sixty-five. Tony was a hard worker and made many good friends through the years at work.

Tony enjoyed the simple things in life which included his garden and reaping the reward of a plentiful harvest. He enjoyed making wine in the fall each year and for those who were ever over at my parents’ home know he loved to entertain and you could never leave without having a glass of wine and a meal.  Tony loved woodworking and was always building a birdhouse, wishing well for the neighbours or for his own yard. He wasn’t one for travelling but did enjoy his Sunday drives to Lockport with mom.

Tony always was willing to help and sometimes would know we needed him before even asking. He helped care for his grandchildren when they were small, and looked after the rest of us every day of his life.

We will always love you and be forever grateful for the time we had. May you be at peace now, until we meet again.

We Love you Ata.

In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  There will be no formal service and a private family interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Garden.

Our family would like to thank Holy Family for looking after Tony over these last few months.
