Obituary of ELSIE TREYTURIK
ELSIE TREYTURIK (FEDORUK)
May 18, 1930 - November 5, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elsie Treyturik at the Maples Care Home at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by her husband Peter and daughter Debbie as well as her mother Jean, sister Florence and brothers Joe, Roy and Donnie, sister-in-laws Nettie and Alma.
She is survived by sons, Richard (Denise), Dennis (Lori), adopted son Andy (Edie), son-in-law Denis, sister-in-law Olga and brother-in-law Nick. She also leaves behind grandchildren Scott (Jamie), Sharmaine (Jamie), Sabrina (Mark), Jared (Ashley), Breanne (Brett), Danielle, Ashley (Trevor), Tyler, Christian, Aiden and great-grandchildren Reiss, Augustus, Kailyn, Leigha, Teigan, Brandan, Dayton, and T.J. She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.
Elsie was an outgoing woman who enjoyed spending time with those she loved. Family celebrations were filled with food and laughter. Playing bingo was a favorite pastime whether from her home or with friends at the local community club.
Elsie was spunky and independent. She was confident enough to speak her mind but combined it with a sense of humour. As dementia slowly took away her memory, it could not take away the best parts of her personality. She was blessed throughout her life to be surrounded by neighbours and friends who watched out for her in her later years. For this the family is forever grateful. We also extend our thanks to the nurses and health care workers who cared for Elsie over the last five years. She will be truly missed but we take comfort knowing she will be reunited with those who have gone ahead.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in to the Alzheimer’s Society.
