Obituary of SHELLY LYNN SMITH
SHELLY LYNN SMITH
It is with profound sadness we announce the tragic passing of our sweet mom, wife, sister and aunt, Shelly Lynn Smith on October 16, 2020. Born in Winnipeg on May 31, 1982, to mother Doreen. Shelly grew up in Winnipeg, second youngest in a family of 5 girls. Shelly was predeceased by her Nanny and sister Dwan.
Shelly is survived by her son Raiden and life partner of 17 years Derrick.
She is survived by her mother Doreen and step-father Fred, sisters Kelly, Deborah and Tamara, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. In Shelly’s 38 years on this earth, she was known to be a quiet, sweet soul with a strong love for her family. Shelly’s most important role was that of mother to her loving son Raiden. Shelly and Raiden were inseparable, together all the time. More than anything Shelly loved spending time with Raiden, caring for him, doting over him. The love was mutual. Raiden will surely miss his mom and her love.
No matter what obstacles or challenges Shelly faced in her life, Raiden was at her side and her first priority. Shelly found great satisfaction in helping any kids that needed her. Shelly loved being an Aunt to her nieces and nephews and played a big role in raising and caring for them. Throughout Shelly’s life she worked in retail at Safeway, Tim Horton’s and Robins. Shelly loved gardening and loved spending time outdoors. Shelly adored her cat Rudy and loved all animals.
You will be missed by all those that loved you dearly Shelly.
“My mind still talks to you and my heart still looks for you, but my soul knows you’re at peace.”
