BETTY REES

Obituary of BETTY JOYCE REES

BETTY REES May 7, 1933 - October 12, 2020 Peacefully with her family by her side, Betty Rees ended this journey and went onto the next, October 12, 2020. Betty was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 7, 1933. Betty is lovingly remembered by daughters; Juli, Tracy (Murray) and Andrea (Darren) as well as adopted daughter Calla (Bo). She will also be missed by her sister Kendra and her grandchildren Aimey (Cal), Kyla (Adam), Stephanie, Grant, Erin (Ryan), TJ (Melissa), Rees (Andrea), Krystyl (Keith), Drew and Haley. Great grandchildren Brook, Riley, Lincoln, Wizzy, Tessa, Brynn, Riley, Bowen, Max, Jack, Brady and Ellisa will also miss her. Betty is predeceased by her husband Tom and daughters Marilyn and Lisa and there is some comfort in knowing she has been reunited with them. Betty’s family always came first but when she was not spending time with them, she loved gardening and had a beautiful yard at the family home on Roberta. She loved to go on day trips to the casino where she was always quick to share her winnings. She and Tom also had a great love for travelling and they had many adventures in their little home on wheels. Betty was a whiz at crosswords and completed the daily crossword every day. Betty had many accomplishments throughout her life; however, her greatest pride was always in her family. She took endless delight in watching everyone’s life unfold and she was present to celebrate every one of their successes; always present for recitals, school concerts, weddings, baptisms, graduations and birthday parties. There is no doubt that family will always be searching for her face in the crowd at all future events and celebrations. There be no one who can fill Betty’s empty chair. There will be no service at this time due to COVID restrictions; however, the family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Mom, its hard to let you go, but we imagine you, Dad, Lisa and Grandma have so much to catch up on and we are at peace knowing you are all together, until we meet again. Our love for you is endless and we will feel you with us forever.
