Obituary of AMELIA SIKORA

AMELIA SIKORA (BARTLINSKI) November 1,1929 - September 30, 2020 It is with tender love and deep sorrow that we announce the gentle passing of Amelia, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was predeceased by her first husband, Czeslaw Bartlinski, after almost 40 years together, by her second husband, Alexy Sikora, earlier this year, after more than 23 years together, and all of her five brothers and sisters. She will be remembered by her son, Richard (Josie) of Selkirk and daughter Barbara (Mervin) of Thunder Bay: grandchildren Sean and Elizabeth of Thunder Bay, Andrea in Alberta, and Brenda in Selkirk; also great grandchildren, Ethan, Savannah, Alexis and Hannah. Memories are also held by extended family in Chicago, in B.C., in Alberta and in Poland. Born in Poland, she survived the war years as a teenager, and emigrated to Canada at the age of 19. Her long life was blessed with the love of family and friends. She was pleased to make contributions to the fabric of the local Polish community - being a life- long member of the SOKOL Polish organization and belonging to the Canadian Legion 246 - Polish branch. She loved entertaining and being entertained. The Winnipeg Symphony and the Ballet were favorites. Special thanks to the care staff on the St. Francis Unit at Holy Family Home, her residence the past 4 years. Their care and attention was exceptional and much appreciated. Funeral mass was held on Tuesday, October 6th at Holy Ghost Parish with interment following in the Parish cemetery. WIECZYNY ODPOCZYNEK RACZ JEJ DAC PANIE
