JUDITH MAGURA

Obituary of JUDITH WENDY MAGURA

JUDITH WENDY MAGURA June 16, 1941 – August 18, 2020 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Judy Magura. Judy is survived by her loving husband of almost 62 years, Rudy, and sons Ken (Wendy), and Denis (Joanne). She also leaves, to cherish in her memory, four grandchildren, Kevin, Leah, Haylee, Conor, and great granddaughter, Isabelle. Mom was born June 16, 1941 in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba. Her family moved to Pointe du Bois, Manitoba when she was 5 years old. This is where she grew up and met Rudy, the love of her life. Mom and Dad were later married in Cooks Creek, Manitoba on October 4, 1958. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg in the early 1960’s to start their family and raise their boys. To help support her family, Mom had various clerical jobs throughout her career. She worked at Woolco, K-Mart, University of Winnipeg, and the North West Company from which she retired. Mom enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening and reading romance novels. She loved great conversation and lots of laughs. Mom was a fantastic cook and baker. She also liked canning every fall. She took a lot of pride in what she prepared for others. Her main ingredient was always love. She loved going to the cabin at Twin Lakes Beach, where she enjoyed many fun times with family and friends. Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling throughout the years; hot holidays in Hawaii and Cuba, visiting family in British Columbia, and winter stays in Mesa, Arizona. Mom was always supportive and involved in her sons’ various sports and activities, and that carried forward to her grandchildren. She was always their greatest fan. There was nothing more important to mom than her family, especially her grandchildren. You could see pride and love in her face and smile anytime she spoke of them. Mom loved her life, she was very giving, and gave with her whole heart. “In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one else will ever fill.” A service for Mom will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Thursday August 27 at 2:00 pm, lunch to follow. Only a limited number of people will be able to attend, and will be by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be sent to the Fibromyalgia Support Group of Winnipeg Inc., in memory of Judy Magura.
