Obituary of KATHLEEN EASTWOOD
KATHLEEN ( KAY ) MARY EASTWOOD
nee Martin
With family by her side, Mom passed away Thursday, August 6, 3 days after her 96th birthday.
She is survived by her four children: Greg (Karen), Bob (Florence), Joanne (Lorry), Carol (Russell), and her sister, Joyce.
“Super Gram”/“Glamour Nan” will be lovingly remembered by her 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were an important part of her daily life.
Mom grew up in North End Winnipeg, attended St. John’s High School, and after marrying, committed herself totally to her family. Besides raising four children, Mom worked for the Seven Oaks School Division, W.J.Long Insurance and for the Manitoba Securities Commission. She also gave generously of her time to community groups such as the local school division, the Legion, and her favourite, the Kildonan United Church on Kilbride.
The family thanks the staff of River Ridge Retirement Living, Home Care and Seven Oaks Hospital for their kind care.
Special thanks go to Verla, Mom’s wonderful neighbour at River Ridge and to Shirley Brown for being a special friend to Mom through the decades.
A private family service will be held at a later date at Kildonan United Church.
A Memorial Tree was planted for KATHLEEN
