Obituary of LOIS VIRGINIA HADDEN

LOIS VIRGINIA HADDEN (NEE PAGE) February 1, 1930-July 15, 2020 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Mother and Grandmother, Lois at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her parents Grace and Bill Page, her husband John and brothers Harry, Don and Lloyd, two sisters infancy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Left to celebrate her wonderful life are son Darcy, daughter Jodi, son in law Adam and her three beautiful grandchildren whom she adored and was so proud of, Brooklyn, Regan and Brandan. Lois was born in Carivale, SK, one of six children. She grew up on a farm south of Carivale going to Ashgrove and Winlaw School. Lois worked in a cafe in Gainsborough then moved to Pierson until she took an interest in hairdressing. She came to Winnipeg to complete a hairdressing course in 1958. Upon completion, she bought a hairdressing shop in Souris where she had many faithful customers. Lois met her husband of 39 years John, they married in Hartney before settling in Winnipeg. Lois continued hairdressing out of her home. They adopted two beautiful children, Darcy & Jodi in 1970 & 1971. Lois eventually quit hairdressing except for a few loyal friends to concentrate on being the best Mom she could be. She was an avid seamstress, always sewing for family and friends. She took so much pride in all her projects. She loved baking bread and all sorts of treats that she loved to share with many family and friends. She was always up for a cup of tea and a visit. Lois volunteered at the kids schools while they were growing up, coached Jodi's baseball team for a number of years, she could slide into home plate like no one else. Her three grandchildren were the light of her life. She always made time for them, came running at the drop of hat. They loved their "Nanny Bobo" so much and will forever miss her. Lois loved to dance especially to old time and western music. She met her special friend Walter through Club 78 and loved that he thought she was ten years younger than she actually was when he asked her to dance. They formed a special bond that that lasted for many years. He made Mom so happy after losing John in 2001. Special thanks to all the staff at Concordia Place Personal Care Home, the nurses all showed Lois so much love and compassion; she enjoyed her time there so much. Cremation has taken place and there will be an intimate family ceremony in the future. Mom, no one could have asked for a better Mother than you. Thank you for a lifetime of happy memories and the love you gave me that made me who I am today. You will be missed immensely, we love you so much….I can no longer see you with my eyes or touch you with hands, but I will feel you in my heart forever. Sleep well ‘till we meet again. Flowers are gratefully declined, please feel free to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or the Heart and Foundation of Manitoba
