Obituary of Catherine Ducharme
CATHERINE “NANCY” DUCHARME
It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Catherine Nancy Ducharme on
July 4, 2020 at the age of 74. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Norman Ducharme, daughter Sandra (Mark) Stoesz and grandchildren Nicole and Eric. She is also survived by her sisters Marilyn (Alex) Wusaty, Patsy Hadden, Joan (Norm) Woodward, Donna McPherson and brothers, Doug of Kelowna, BC, and Bruce (Laurie) and sister-in-law Louella, brother-in-laws Robert (Brenda) Ducharme, Clifford (Jean) Ducharme, sister-in-laws Marjorie Stardom, Betty Henkewich and Marlene (Wilfred)Bach, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa in 1966; son Stephen in 1972, mother Mabel in 2004; father Thomas in 1964; brother Robert in 1991; sister Betty in 1952.
Nancy was born in St. Boniface, MB on January 26, 1946. She resided in Transcona most of her life and enjoyed her early years with her siblings.
She married the love of her life Ernie in 1965. Nancy worked from the time she was 17 starting at MTS until her retirement from ADP (Automated Data Processing). She found her niche working in the financial industry and she worked her way up the ranks to become a manager in the payroll department. She was smart with a knack for numbers and an unbelievable memory. She was well liked and respected by her coworkers as she worked as hard as anyone on her team.
Nancy had many interests including travelling, reading, bingo, playing cards, shopping and spending time with friends and family going out for coffee or a meal. She loved a good practical joke which she often instigated and had a competitive spirit. She loved the bling and we used to call her a crow because of all the glittery items she liked to collect whether it be jewellery, clothes or some other trinket. She adorned her house with many items dear to her heart and lit up her yard year-round with dozens of lights, ornaments and flowers. It also explains the many trips to Las Vegas, just could not get enough of the lights. Nancy loved Christmas as was evident by her yard and the way she spoiled her grandchildren always finding that one special item just for them that showed her love. She was extremely generous and would not hesitate to give what she could to help others. Nancy will by sorely missed by all her family and friends. She will remain in our hearts forever.
