Obituary of BARBARA PACAK
BARBARA PACAK
On Friday, June 12, 2020, Barbara Ewa Pacak, beloved wife of Mieczyslaw and mother of two sons, passed away at age 69 in Winnipeg, MB.
Barbara was born in Lodz, Poland to Jozef and Sabina (Wegierek) Miroslawski. She completed her economics degree in Lodz and began her accounting career with Jotes. In the summer of 1969, she met the love of her life, Mieczyslaw Pacak, at a zabawa during a ladies choice dance. Having immediate, “chemia”, this was the beginning of a 50 year love story. The two married in 1972 and had their 1st son, Marcin. Barbara and her young family immigrated to Canada in 1981 to start their new lives with relatives in Winnipeg, MB. Her family was complete with the birth of their 2nd son, Bernard. While in Canada, Barbara worked in catering, nursing homes and as a devoted housewife.
Barbara’s creativity was boundless from handcrafted wood art pieces, intricately cut fruit and food platters for family events to painstakingly sewn dresses. She was truly the kindest, sincerest, and most selfless person. Her first words to anyone were always, “How can I help?” Barbara was well known throughout the Polish community for her and her husband's almost 30 years of service with the Polish Gymnastic Association Sokol Winnipeg. The loss of such an amazing person will live in our hearts forever. There are no words to say or sentences to write that can express your importance to our lives.
Predeceased by her parents, Jozef & Sabina Miroslawski, Barbara is survived by her brother Andrzej Miroslawski (Jolanta); her two sons Marcin Pacak (Dr. Kamila Duplak), Bernard Pacak (Sabrina Simonic); nephew Rafal Miroslawski (Dorota); great nephew Jakub Miroslawski; Bernatek Family; Dasiewicz Family; Janus Family; Pacak Family and many close friends.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Ben Fultz and Dr. Clare Ramsey at HSC. Your decorum, professionalism and guidance will be forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Polish Gymnastic Association Sokol Winnipeg.
The private family prayers and Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Due to Covid restrictions we ask that people interested in attending contact the family for further details.
Interment will be open to the public and will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
