Obituary of NANCY CAROL DINARDO

NANCY CAROL DINARDO (nee MASIK) July 25, 1939 – June 14, 2020 Peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Riverview Palliative Care, Nancy, after a courageous battle with cancer, was called home to be with her Lord. Nancy is survived by her sister, Sylvia Misanchuk and nephew Jeffrey Gregorashuk (Val Campbell), Godson Darren Kashton, her dearest friends Mary Jane & Bill Lesuk as well as her many close friends in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her parents Michael and Caroline Masik, her sister Patricia Gregorashuk and nephew Rodney Gregorashuk. Nancy was born and raised in Winnipeg. She loved life and all the wonderful things it had to offer. As a youngster, Nancy very much enjoyed participating in numerous sports, loved music and dancing. She sought employment at Health Sciences Centre as a young woman and was very fortunate to have been employed there for 34 years. She was intelligent and passionate in her work. As this was Nancy’s second home, it is here where she also met many of her close friends she still has today. Nancy had the opportunity to travel with her work friends to Hawaii, Mexico, San Francisco, just to name a few places which were very memorable to her. Nancy married Joseph Dinardo in 1976 and they were happily married for almost twenty years. During this phase of her life, she enjoyed gardening, baking and entertaining her family and friends with some delicious home cooked Ukrainian meals. Nancy had a unique way of making everyone feel comfortable and special. She had a “heart of gold”. She was compassionate, kind and generous and had a wonderful sense of humor. Nancy’s faith, although private, was strong and she always trusted in her Lord for his wisdom, guidance and forgiveness. Cremation has taken place with interment at Holy Family Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, O.S.B.M. officiating. Our warmest sincere thank you to the Staff at CancerCare, Home Care and the transport drivers (Manitoba Stretcher Services) who all went above and beyond for Nancy. Also, for a brief time, the caring and compassionate staff members at the 3E Palliative Care wing in the Riverview Health Centre who made Nancy’s final days comfortable was deeply appreciated. We would also like to thank everyone who reached out with their love and support for Nancy during her final days and thank them for their well wishes and fond memories of their quick-witted friend. Nancy’s strong personality, hearty laugh and uplifting spirit will be certainly be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
