He is predeceased by his father Ralph. Rick grew up in Transcona where he made many lifetime long friends. Rick enjoyed his career as a locksmith and retired from the University of Manitoba in 2017. Rick was a wonderful, friendly person known for his long and entertaining stories, which he loved to tell often. He touched everybody’s lives in his own unique way because of his humorous and quick-witted personality. His ability to make people laugh would lighten the mood and put a smile on everyone’s face. He was always there to lend a helping hand and give advice. Rick cherished his holidays in Penticton where he visited his daughters and grandchildren. He had a thirst for knowledge and spent a great deal of his time reading and keeping up with current affairs. Rick treasured his time spent at Twin Lake Beaches with friends and family. He always looked forward to camping and fishing with his work buddies from the U of M. For the past 30 years, he took pride in volunteering with The Winnipeg Folk Festival. Although he left us too soon, he will never be forgotten by family and friends as a loving father and a caring son. You will be sadly missed and loved. A celebration of life will be held with immediate family.
