Obituary of ELIZABETH SIEMENS
ELIZABETH SIEMENS (KALENCHUK)
August 1939 – June 2020
It is with great sadness we announce that after a short illness Elizabeth Siemens passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 7, 2020.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her daughter Brenda, brothers George, Walter, Eddie, Alex, Stan & Greg and her sister Jeannie. Leaving to mourn are her children Brad (Marie), Gary (Michele), Karen, Allan (Debbie), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as her brother Victor and sister Victoria.
Affectionately known as Baba Liz, she was a single mother who raised 5 children on her own, one of whom had special needs. Baba spent many years working tirelessly to ensure quality programming for people with special needs. She sat on many committees for people with disabilities and made many friends along the way. Her door was always open and the coffee pot was always on. Baba was often found on her “perch” keeping an eye on the neighborhood. When Baba had free time, she liked to play Kingy Bingy and make the occasional trip to the Casino. She loved to plant things and watch them grow. She was especially proud of her raspberry bushes. And even though her mobility had declined she still insisted on looking after her own flowers in the garden. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Baba will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Flowers are gratefully declined; we ask that any donations be made in Baba's name to a charity of your choice.
Due to COVID 19 there will be a private family service only.
