Obituary of David Maxwell Morrison
DAVID MAXWELL MORRISON
It is with great sadness our family announces the sudden passing of DAVID MAXWELL MORRISON on June 1, 2020 at 66 years of age. David was born on March 22, 1954 to Elizabeth and David Morrison in Tillicoultry, Scotland. David came to Canada when he was only 7 years old.
David leaves to cherish his memory, his best friend and wife, Barbara, daughter Caitlin (Marc), son Josh, sister-in-law Marilyn Kasper (Dave) and cousin David Gray(Jean) and Pam and many other close family, and our “other” son Kieran, He was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth and father, David. He will be sadly missed by friends and family.
David worked for Frontier School Division as the Asst. Secretary Treasurer for the almost 20 years. He loved his job and worked with many special people. Previously to that he worked as the Controller for Salisbury House Restaurants. David was a man who worked hard, cared deeply, and gave his best for the people in his life and all those lives he touched. He instilled a good work ethic in his children.
David was a bowler and a golfer for many years. He was also an avid snowmobiler, and loved when he could share that hobby with Josh. But over the last 12 years Barb and Dave shared the love of ‘camping’. We call him Captain Dave because he did all the driving to many destinations – Mount Rushmore, Memphis, Oregon Coast, Bryce Canyon, New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico.
We lastly would like to say a “Thank you” to the doctors and nurses at the Intensive Care Medical Surgical ward and Intensive Care Cardiac Unit at St. Boniface hospital. The compassion they showed David and our family was felt and greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
Due to the unprecedented time we are living in, a Come and Go viewing will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. with a limit of 25 people at any given time. After cremation has taken place, there will be a private service on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2W 3V7.
In lieu of flowers you can make a donation in Dave’s memory to Winnipeg Humane Society or of a charity of your choice.
