Obituary of BARBARA GRANT

BARBARA RUTH GRANT (NEE CORMIER) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Ruth after a brief illness. She began her journey in this world on September 6, 1938 in Amherst, NS and passed away in Winnipeg, MB on November 9, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Ruth will live forever in the hearts of her children; daughters, Kelly Hunter and Judy Recksiedler (Garth); sons, Rob Grant (Carol) and Chris Grant (Barbara); as well as nine grandchildren, Ryan Turner, Mark Turner (Ashley), Kayla Klos (Jason), Lindsay Grant (Sean), Haleigh Grant (Mike) Rebecca Grant, Emily and Jacob Grant, and Jillian Recksiedler; five great grandchildren, Emma and Hannah, Benjamin and Zachary, and Mason. She also leaves to mourn her brother Bruce Cormier as well as her Aunts, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces and many close friends. She was predeceased by her parents Rudy and Pearl Cormier. The family would like to thank the staff at GH4 Health Sciences Centre for their compassion when taking care of our Mom. We also would like to thank all of our many friends and family members for their prayers and well wishes during this difficult time in our lives. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choosing in Ruth's name. Ruth touched many people along her journey with her zest for life, love for people and faith in God. A Service to celebrate the life of Ruth will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Avenue at 10:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2012 with Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery 4387 Main Street. For those who wish, there will be a visitation/viewing Thursday, November 15 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
