Obituary of ALLEN CLIVE GILLESPIE
ALLEN CLIVE GILLESPIE
March 24, 1926 – April 17, 2020
Born on the family farm at Durban, Manitoba to Harold and Edith Gillespie. He is survived by his sons Dr. Brian Gillespie and Don Gillespie (Dr. Jamie) and their children Emily and Colleen, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Edith, his wife of over 60 years Elsie, infant brother Brian and sister Sheila.
He received his education at Durban Consolidated School, Swan River Collegiate Institute and Red River College. He moved to Winnipeg in 1951. He retired from Winnipeg Hydro in 1988 as Supervisor of Operations in the Hydro Steam Plant after more than 32 years of service.
Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Due to the current COVID -19 restrictions on social gatherings, a private funeral service will be held on April 24.
