Obituary of ROSE ROSTEK
ROSE ROSTEK
May 24, 1914 – April 4, 2020
It is with heartfelt sorrow and sadness we announce the passing of a truly beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother at 105 years old.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, sons Bernard and Lawrence. She is survived by her son Russell (Arlene), daughters-in-law Blanche and Eva, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren Jeff (Teresa, Katherine and Alison), David (Cindy, Braiden and Jaylee), Darell (Lisa and Dean), Bradley (Lisa, Riley and Logan), Marnie (Mario, Matthew and Renee), Mark (Chrissy and Rayne), Jason (Christy, Bailey and Olivia), Erin (Dean and Kyle). She is also survived by her brother Joe. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who hold a special place in her heart
Mom was born and raised in Meleb, MB. She married her husband Joe and together they raised their three sons together in Camp Morton, MB. After moving to Winnipeg, Mom took care of her sister-in-law Lizzie and her Dad.
Mom had a strong faith in God and was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church where she belonged to the Catholic Women’s League.
Mom was a very social person, loved dancing, playing cards with the ladies of Fred Douglas Lodge which was her home for many years. She was known for the beautiful comforters she made and shared with her family and friends. Mom volunteered at Fred Douglas Lodge and The Maples Care Home where she helped with church services. Mom’s favourite words at the end of a conversation were God Bless, love you.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Fred Douglas Lodge.
In Memory of a Dear Grandma
It’s always sad but comforting to silently recall
Your smile and dear familiar face
So, loved by one and all.
For the world may keep turning
And change from day to day
But precious memories of you will never fade away
and here’s hoping that this message
which carries so much love, will find its way to heaven up above.
It’s to let you know dear Grandma, that although you are at rest,
You’ll live forever in the hearts of those who loved you best.
Donations may be made in Rose's memory to the Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba.
Due to the current health crisis a private family graveside service has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A Memorial Tree was planted for ROSE
