JOSE OLIVEIRA BERGANTIM
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jose Oliveira Bergantim, at the age of 77 years on November 14, 2019. Jose was born in Feteiras do Sul, San Miguel, Açores, Portugal on September 2, 1942. He immigrated to Canada on November 5, 1966.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Matilde and his children, Paulo (Rosy) and Sonya (Sorin).
He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Alyssa, Katarina, Lucas, Eric, Stefanie, Anthony, Ileana & Emelie, his great grand-daughter Jenesis; siblings, Carlos (Eulalia), Ilidio (Lourdes) and Lucia along with numerous in laws, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents Manuel & Virginia Bergantim and his brother Manuel Bergantim.
Thank you to Dr. Bashir and Nurse Marisa at CancerCare Manitoba, the staff at WRHA Palliative Program (special thanks to Angela & Cori), and the staff at the 3rd floor Palliative Care of Riverview Health Centre (special thanks to Daniella).
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Viewing will be held one-hour prior, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
