VLADIMIR SOLDO

Obituary of VLADIMIR SOLDO

VLADIMIR SOLDO March 11, 1940 – October 29, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Dedo, Vladimir Soldo, at the age of 72. Vlado passed away peacefully with his family by his side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 50 years Adela, his children Darko (Zdenka) Damir, and Nathalia (Kirk, Koullis) Christodoulides, his grandchildren Keven, Gloria, Nanci, Christian, Greg, Aris and Emma. He will also be remembered by his siblings in Croatia, Neda, Ratko (Stefica) and their children Ante, Andreja and Irena, as well as extended family and friends in California who were very important to him, each and every one of you. Also family and friends across Canada, Croatia and Bosnia Hercegovina. Vlado was predeceased by his mother Sima, father Mate and brother-in-law Zarko. Vlado was born in Medjugorje, Bosnia Hercegovina. In 1968 he came to Canada with his wife and children to start a new life. Family and friends were very important to him. He was always happy to see everyone. He adored his grandchildren and was always giving them advice. He had such spirit and pride in everything he did whether it was making wine from his own grapes or honey from his bees. He loved hunting so much that even though he wasn’t feeling well, he had to have his last hunt with his grandson a month before he died. For the last few years Vlado would talk about finishing his house in Croatia and we would all go out there to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, and that’s what we did, just as he had planned. He was so calm and always positive, and no matter what the situation, he would convince everyone that everything would always be okay. Thank you so much Tata for the wonderful memories. Thank you to family and friends from near and far for all the kind words, love, and support during these past few months. Thank you to Dr. Kraut, our nurse Sarah-Jane, and the palliative care team for such kind and compassionate care. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 2 at 8:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 3 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street, with Fr. Robert Polz officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vlado's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Mi te volimo puno I bit ces uvjek u nasim srcima. Pocivaj u miru bozjem.
