Obituary of LORETTE PATRICIA RUDOLPH
LORETTE PATRICIA RUDOLPH
(Ducharme/Turner)
October 23, 1961 – October 30, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Lorette announces her sudden death after a brief illness, with her husband by her side.
Lorette was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Veronique Ducharme; her oldest daughter, Candace Ducharme; her brother, Nelson Ducharme; two baby brothers in infancy; and two nieces, April and Mavis.
Lorette leaves to mourn her husband, Kevin, and her children, Lindsay Turner, Kevyn Jr. (April), Robyn, Daryan, Eryn (Talisa), Ashtyn, and her baby girl, Morgyn, along with 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who she was very proud of. Her seven remaining siblings are Frank Ducharme, Ken Ducharme (Gloria), Jim Ducharme, Lena Lavallee, Lucy Ducharme, Johnny Ducharme (Stephanie), and Mary-Lou Ducharme. Lorette also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Lorette was born in Ste. Rose du lac, Manitoba, and was the second youngest of 11 children born to her parents. She was raised in Eddystone, Manitoba, where she helped out with the family garden and enjoyed horseback riding. When she became a parent, she knew this was her passion and she was a stay-at-home mom, while her husband worked to support the family. Lorette enjoyed doing beadwork and sewing. Whenever a new baby arrived in the family, she would make a star blanket with the baby’s name embroidered on it. She encouraged her children to participate in the traditional dances, helped make their regalias and took them to many pow-wows. Lorette was a friend to many people and enjoyed her daily walks down Selkirk Avenue, where she would greet everyone with a friendly hello.
The family would like to acknowledge the Grace Hospital for their loving care of their mother during her short stay. Also, the Grand Rapids Cree Nation and Chief Harold Turner for their generous support.
Funeral services will occur on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, 1:00 pm, with viewing at 12:00 noon, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. Flowers graciously declined, however, if friends so desire, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
