Obituary of PETER JOHN BOYCHUK
PETER J BOYCHUK
Peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the age of 87 years, Peter passed away, joining his loving wife, Mary, in heaven. Left to cherish his memory, son Ken (Jan), daughter Colleen (Gary) and grandchildren Dylan and Jessica, brothers, Harry (Doreen), William (Doris) and sisters, Evelyn, Anne (Ed), with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary and his parents, John and Nellie Boychuk. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Fred Douglas Lodge. As well, thank you to Renee for spending time with Peter each week.
Peter enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved going on trips to Vegas, always staying in the same room at the Flamingo hotel. Peter loved the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose especially attending the games with his grandkids, Dylan and Jessica. Peter was a shining light, always smiling and teasing everyone he met. He will be dearly missed.
We would like to thank family members and friends who faithfully provided compassion to Peter over the last couple of years.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. The Pallbearers will be: his brothers Harry & William, nephew Rob, niece Karen, grandson Dylan and son Ken, as well as his granddaughter, and honorary pallbearer, Jessica. Interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street. A luncheon will be served at Glen Eden immediately after the Interment.
When I am gone, release me, let me go I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown But now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me if grieve you must; Then let your grief be comforted by trust, It's only for a while that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on; So if you need me, call me and I will come, Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near All of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say Welcome Home .
