Obituary of DARLENE DORIS ONOFREY
Darlene Doris Onofrey
It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the sudden passing of Darlene Onofrey, loving daughter, sister, and aunt, on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 64.
Darlene was born on November 5, 1954 in Winnipeg, MB to Albert and Mary (Moroz) Stangl. Darlene always loved being around people and enjoyed her years of work as a waitress at the St. Regis Hotel. She also took pride in caring for and loving her youngest sister Rozina when she was a baby. Her love was extended to all of her nieces and nephews, who enjoyed many sleepovers and weekends spent with their aunt.
Darlene’s greatest passion was always her family and she loved spending time with and visiting them. She loved to tease and joke, always making those around her laugh. She also loved music and watching reruns of old sitcoms.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, her husband, Jerry, and her brother-in-law, Dennis. She is survived by her father, Albert (Joyce); mother-in-law, Rose; brother, Clarence (Rhonda); sisters, Brenda, Shirley (Paul), and Rozina (John); her nieces and nephews, Jenn, Ray, Dale, Nikki, Brandy, Dallas, Sara, Corey, and Beckie; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
