Obituary of MICHAEL DOUGLAS PELESHOK
Michael Douglas Peleshok
September 7, 1951 – July 25, 2019
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Michael Douglas Peleshok, who passed away peacefully on July 25th, holding his wife’s hand. Michael was a fantastic Husband, father, grandfather/Papa, uncle & friend. Michael leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Sharon, and children, Tara (Paul), Mike (Jennifer), Zig (Alyssa), Kurtis (Sherry) & Jacob. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kaia, Noah, Caitlin, Tanner, Rachel, Noah, Joshua, Ryan, Jayla & Sophia. Also mourning his passing are his special friends, Andrew (& Chayna), Al, Suzanne & Gaby, along with 2 special dogs, Tipper & Koda who were excited every time Mike’s name was mentioned.
Michael was predeceased by his father, John; mother, Eileen, sister Nancy and pets, Kiki, Shaney, Scooter, Pekoe, Toto & Elizabeth.
Michael was born in Windsor, ON, on September 7, 1951. After moving and settling into Northend Winnipeg, he attended schools Aberdeen & St. John’s high school. As an adult, he was employed by Motorcoach, Schneider’s Meats, Maple Leaf Meats, Guarda Security and finally his last years of employment at the St. Boniface Hospital as security.
Michael enjoyed many things including Thunderstorms, lightning, walking in the rain, eating pork rinds, camping & fishing (especially at Black Lake & Bissett), being with family and raising two wonderful children. Michael particularly enjoyed spending time with friends, as he would meet Andrew, Tipper & Koda every Friday.
Michael & Sharon have been in love for 10 years and affirmed their love with marriage vows on July 5, 2019. They have a special bond that could not be broken and no one could come between. Michael had a sense of humour second to none! He loved to laugh and had a great smile. Michael enjoyed working at the St. Boniface Hospital as security, as it allowed him to meet many different people. Mike loved talking and meeting new people from around the world. He particularly loved his work family at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Michael left a message for his family & friends:
I cannot predict the future
I cannot change the past
I have just the present moment
I must treat it as my last
I must use the moment wisely
For it will soon pass away
And be lost to me forever
As part of yesterday
I must exercise compassion
Help the fallen to their feet
Be a friend to the friendless
Make an empty life complete
The unkind things I do today
May never be undone
Any friendships that I fail to win
May never more be won
I may not have another chance
On bended knee to pray
And I thank God with humble heart
For giving me this day
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, in Unit 4B, where he spent his last hours and happy to feel at home.
My Hunny, I love you. Please give my Mom & Dad a hug and I will see you all again, one day, when I am called Home. Love, Sharon.
