Obituary of IVAN SENESHEN
Ivan Seneshen
December 18, 1942 - July 25, 2019
It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Ivan Seneshen on July 25, 2019 at the age of 76.
Ivan will lovingly be remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Chris; daughters, Kim Prendergast (PJ) and Kelly Seneshen (Martin); grandchildren Owen, Lucas, Lane, Levi and Grace; siblings Lorne Seneshen (Carole), Ben Blake (Margaret), Gloria Karsin (Grant); sisters in-law Darlene Kowalchuk and Sandi Kosowan (Rick) and his nieces and nephews.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents Bella and Mike Seneshen, in-laws Helen and Mike Moroz and his brother in-law Bill.
Ivan and Chris were inseparable and spent their marriage treasuring everything they did together. In retirement Ivan and Chris discovered a love for travel and made many memories. Focused on family, Ivan was a proud father to his girls and was a very active Grandpa.
Ivan made lifelong friends wherever he went. He will be fondly remembered for his easy smile, his sense of humor (with seemingly endless supply of bad jokes), his generous heart and his love of family.
Ivan was a hard worker and handy in everything he did – over the years there were many home repairs, decks, fence, painting projects and always grass to cut or snow to shovel. Ivan took pride in everything he did and his motto was 'do it right or don’t do it at all.’ He always thought of others first and never turned down an opportunity to help.
An avid sports lover, Ivan spent countless hours playing baseball, hockey and curling. In more recent years Ivan thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren's activities.
Ivan’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to friends and family for the outpouring of sympathy, caring, friendship and love. The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and St Boniface Hospital for their efforts and kindness.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11:00 am. A private interment will follow at a later date.
If desired, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ivan’s memory.
Ivan will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts.
