We are deeply saddened by the death of Herta, your dear Mom and Oma and our very precious friend. She and the rest of your family welcomed us to the Cobourg neighbourhood in Winnipeg more than forty years ago and we have been friends ever since, long after we moved from Winnipeg. She and Goldie visited nearly every year on our visits to Winnipeg. They called each other on their birthdays. This was a very special friendship.
Herta was able to combine smiles, laughter, and hugs with a very practical approach to life. She could be matter of fact and also deeply sympathetic and supportive. She was loving and generous and also “no-nonsense”. We were so fortunate to enjoy many years of friendship with her. We will miss her very much. Our trips to Winnipeg will have some sadness, because that “visit with Herta” won’t happen.
We hope that you as her family will be comforted by your memories and your assurance that she loved you so much. We wish you peace and hope. God bless you all.
