Obituary of JERRY STEVE DRAGAN

JERRY STEVE DRAGAN

March 5th, 1942 to April 30th, 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Jerry Dragan on April 30th, 2019.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Lynn, his son Rob (Dawn), sister-in-law Gloria, grandson Ryan, granddaughter Courtney (Brandan),  great-granddaughter Lauryn, nieces Pat (Glenn) Chorney, Janice (Brian) Romaniuk, great-nieces Kristen (Rob) and Meagan and also his great-nephews, Matthew and Joshua.

He was predeceased by his mom and dad Mary and Steve, his son Wayne, sisters Nellie Hrynkiw (Walter), Stella and Jennie Dragan, nephew Jimmy Hrynkiw and brother-in-law Bob Poliquin.

Jerry and Lynn were High School sweethearts.  They wed on May 18th, 1963, on a snowy spring day.  They have been happily married for nearly 56 years.

Jerry started his career at CP Express then worked for Goodyear Canada until his retirement in 2005.

In his retirement he loved golfing, especially with his cousins JC, Bob and friend Duffy, country music, BBQing (the best steak in town), sitting around a fire and was always texting people to see if they were coming over for “happy hour” and pestering the neighbours.

He was a true sports fan especially for the Jets (convinced the NHL is against us), the Bombers and the Goldeyes.

Jerry and Lynn loved Tuesday movies, going out for dinner with friends; day trips to rural Manitoba (open doors farms/Winnipeg) and of course, the local casinos.  He always lived life to the fullest.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
