On Sunday, February 24, 2019 three kids lost their mom, a sweet grandchild lost her Nana, and a devoted husband lost his beloved wife. 

Pat, the eldest of 3 children, was born on August 20, 1939 to parents Alice and Ted Bryant. She was raised on their family farm in Shellbrook, SK along with her brother Ed, and sister Coleen. Pat left the farm life behind to make her way in the world and lived in all three prairie provinces, finally settling in Winnipeg in the 70s. During the 70s Pat worked with an anti-poverty group and campaigned for a political party to help bring about positive change for those living in poverty. 

In the 1980s mom met and married Jim (James Woods). A second marriage for both of them, they were in love and devoted to each other throughout their lives and shared hobbies of picnics, fishing, and the outdoors which gave them many hours of shared joy. They were often seen enjoying a cup of something and laughing together. 

Predeceased by her parents, Pat leaves to mourn her loss her children; Vivian (James), Earl, and Maria (H. Charles); one grandchild; Ciara; and Pat's loving husband Jim (James) Woods. Also left behind are her brother Edward (Linda) and their children; Robert, Laureen, and Jonathan, as well as Pat's sister Coleen. Through marriage, she also leaves behind a grandson Thor.

Warm, friendly, caring, loyal, feisty, funny, and helpful are just a few of the ways to describe Pat. She would talk to anyone, anywhere, and many people knew her by many names: Patricia, Patty, Fat-Pat, Nana, mom, Hun, and love. In her neighborhood Pat was who you went to see if you had a problem or needed help, and it was common to meet new neighbors at mom's kitchen table. She was a Block Parent and a Foster Parent. 

Pat was always genuine. If she asked how you were you knew to answer her honestly, because she always knew the truth. People and pets could always get a hug and some words of encouragement. 

It was well known that you could always find a hot cup of coffee or tea, and a laugh at Pat's place; where you could also find her delicious baking. Mom's bread and buns were loved by many, as were her cakes and buttertarts. Baking wasn't her only hobby, she also loved playing cards, bingo, games, doing jigsaws and crosswords, liquid embroidery, plastic canvas, cake decorating, and other crafts. She made and donated things to a seniors group that sold the items to raise funds. She also sewed for most of her life, making clothes and winter coats for her children. Friends brought their ideas to mom who turned them into beautiful outfits. Crocheting was another passion, where she made afghans and baby blankets. Mom loved to read. 

She was a devoted mother and taught each of her kids many important life skills. Each of us had our own special relationship with her, and she passed along with all that love; the very best of herself that she could give us. We always knew that mom was in our corner. 

Many things will be missed by those who's life she touched with love, as she had a way of making every person she came in contact with feel valued, safe and happy.

We love and miss you so much. We know you are putting on some tea and coffee and baking us a treat. 

The world has lost is feistiest spark.

In accordance with Pat's wishes she has been cremated. No formal service will be held.
