Bernadette was born in Langenburg, Saskatchewan on April 12, 1948. Her family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she attended school and met the love of her life, Walter Walashek Sr. They were married on November 19, 1966 and had four children. After a couple of moves, they settled in St. Andrews, Manitoba to raise their growing family. She had many jobs through the years and eventually retired from Middle Church Home. In the years that followed, Bernadette and Walter Sr. had many family BBQ’s with candy scrambles, pie eating contests and of coarse, the pig roasts. She enjoyed playing cards, painting ceramics, and being involved with her children, and grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Betel Home in Selkirk, Manitoba for their years of care and compassion. As well as the doctors and nurses in her final moments at Selkirk Regional Health Center.
