MARY KRYWONIZKA
(nee Kowal)
Peacefully with family by her side, Mary passed away on October 4, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre.
She was born July 30, 1923 in Western Ukraine, immigrated to Canada with her family in 1928, settling in Winnipeg. Mary excelled in her schoolwork and was passionate about theatre and music. She worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1991.
She will be deeply missed by her 4 children Kathryn Demski, Michael, Patricia Krywonizka and Mary-Ann (Ed) Bernardin; grandchildren Andrew, Teresa (Matthew), Robyn (Gordon), William, Adam, Dave, Peter and Zenon; great grandchild Aunika.
She was predeceased by her husband Bohdan (Danny); parents Nicholas and Katherine; brothers Nick and Bill; sisters Eugenia and Sylvia; son-in-law Gordie.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
